Using Putting Preview and Other Putting Tips for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 for Wii
Here are some tips for using the putt preview. I didn’t really get the whole concept until I saw some of my friends and how they got ready to putt.
For my setup, I was looking over the putt, to see if it was uphill or downhill, to see if the green was sloping to the left or to the right or both. Then I’d position myself with my best guess and hit the putt preview. The preview would show me how close I was to the actual trajectory and if the 100% putt would go further or fall short.
What I didn’t realize was that during my setup, if I set the putt distance to less than 100%, the putt preview would show me the way based on what I had set. Now as part of my setup I adjust the distance and angle. This has improved my putting quite a bit.
Here are some more tips:
Does the number of squares in the preview of the putt count in its short or long? They are in 5 foot increments. each. After exiting the putt preview, you can adjust the putt distance arrow to add or subtract how many yards it is short or long and read the percentage. For example, you are 40 feet. putter selected and sets the arrow to 40 feet. You look at the putt preview and it shows you two squares or 5 feet. long. Exit the putt preview and move the putter back 10 feet. at 30 feet. The percentage below the 30 foot mark is 75%. That is what you are looking for in the power meter. 75% is 3/4 of the way up.
If you have an uphill putt, the putter selected will rarely do the job. Select the next level putter before watching the putt preview. The same goes for downhill putts. Go back one level before you see the preview of the putt.
