WHAT IS A STATE BARRIER? The state barrier can be defined as the form of communication that is so complex in the workplace that it prevents the exchange of ideas or thoughts in physical form, language and state.
Causes of status barriers in organizations
1. Formal operating rules and company policies: Most organizations will socialize a set of rules related to the careful selection of the use of message types, media and modes of communication. Employees often avoid these rules simply by avoiding sending any messages. Additionally, formal company policies strictly streamline communication between employees and describe in detail how employees should communicate with each other without changing their position levels in the organization. For example, if the company policy is that all communication must be in writing, even for a small message, the medium used must be in writing. This leads to a delay in the transmission of the message and therefore decision-making is delayed.
2. Status positions in the organization: In each organization, members are subdivided into different categories according to their role in the organization. If these facilities are made available appropriately, then communication can become timely, accurate, and tailored to needs. Otherwise, communication can face numerous obstacles and become ineffective.

The large amount of management will certainly delay the transmission of numerous messages and the content of the messages could even change before reaching the intended recipient.
