6 tips to stay motivated when you just don’t feel like it

If your “get up and go” has risen and gone, here are some suggestions for getting your mojo back.

1. Stop procrastinating

You will most likely not be in the mood when you start, but you will gradually relax into a rhythm and continue with your to-do list. No matter how bad the job turns out, like a new blog post, you have something you can edit and improve. Procrastinating will not earn you anything.

2. Don’t try to be “perfect”

Many business owners get overwhelmed by the belief that everything they do has to be perfect. It is not like this. It just has to be done. Of course, do your best, check the spelling of your work and make sure you have said what you really want to say and not offend anyone before hitting the Submit button. But otherwise, it is better to do your best than to do nothing.

3. Avoid overwhelming

Many people struggle to start their workday because they are so overwhelmed that they literally have no idea where to start, so they do nothing. If this is the case, it is time to make an honest assessment of where you spend your time each day. Consider outsourcing some of these jobs to affordable freelancers. But until you find the right helper, just pick anything from your to-do list and go for it.

4. Outsource the tasks that drag you down

There will always be tasks that you will love to do and look forward to each day. You are most likely good at them, they are interesting, and you are proud of your work. Then there are the tasks that are boring, boring, and you hate them. There are millions of freelancers online who can shake these tasks off so you can happily spend your time doing the things you love.

5. Manage your time better

One reason you may feel unmotivated is that you spend so many hours in your business, but you don’t seem to be getting the results you expected. There may be a couple of reasons for this. One is that your hours are not as productive as you think. Create a spreadsheet to keep track of typical business days. Every 15 minutes, write down what you have accomplished. Then see how much of your breakout sessions can be spent on things that really grow your business.

6. Reward yourself

Give yourself a little treat at the end of each task you complete. It could be a break, a nice hot cup of coffee, or five minutes of watching funny videos online, but don’t get carried away.
